We have been worked closely with Costain and Scott Wilson, our contractors and engineering consultants, to develop proposals for a revised tunnel structure and construction method. This has undergone extensive scrutiny to ensure that is the best design solution. We have even tested the construction method on a trial tunnel segment away from the site. Costain and Scott Wilson are working towards getting Network Rail approval for the final detailed design.
