As part of the development of the Tesco Gerrards Cross Store Costain (Tesco’s contractor) are currently carrying out works on Packhorse Road. These works will result in the rebuilding of the railway bridge, road widening, carriageway changes and pedestrian access and safety improvements. The works will be completed between June and November this year.
This period of highway improvement works will encompass development to both Packhorse Road and Station Approach, pedestrian enhancements and the construction of the store’s entrance road. These works will be undertaken in eight phases, the sequencing of which has been designed to minimise the disruption to both road users and local businesses alike.
It is possible however that minor delays may be experienced. Tesco would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this may cause. Pedestrian access over Packhorse Road bridge and to the Gerrards Cross railway station will be maintained safely at all times.
Enabling activities for these phases of work commenced in May, initially to divert gas, BT and electrical services behind the east parapet wall on Packhorse Road bridge.
The subsequent eight phases of highway improvement works – commencing in June – are outlined by the pdf sequence drawings provided below, which may be viewed and downloaded individually.
These drawings give details of the works being carried out during each phase, plus an indicative schedule of the start and finish time for each activity listed. Please also note each drawing designates the available footpaths for pedestrian movements and the proposed traffic management required for the safe completion of each phase of work.
