We are currently working to finalise the design and construction process in order that we can resume development of the store as quickly and as safely as possible.
As we move closer to this goal, we will be keeping local residents, rail travellers and other interested parties fully informed every step of the way by using this website to provide all the latest news concerning the superstore development.

TESCO RESPONSE TO BUCKS COUNTY COUNCIL DEVELOPMENT CONTROL COMMITTEE MEETING
Tesco welcomes yesterday's decision by the Development Control Committee to defer a decision on the Haul Route consent application until November. We are committed to continuing to work with the council to provide as much information as possible about the programme and works on-site, just as we have been up until this point. It has always been our aim to ensure that the council is fully aware of our plans and has sufficient information at their disposal to allow them to make a decision on this application.
We believe that the council made the right decision in voting to revoke the enforcement notice which had been issued in relation to haul route site. Furthermore Tesco believe that this demonstrates a wider acceptance that it would be in the best interest of all parties and the local environment if we are able to import bulk fill material to the site rail. This is a view which was shared by other speakers at the committee. Obviously there is still some way to go before the council is convinced of this and we understand their need to fully understand all the facts and circumstances before coming to decision.
Finally we would like to reiterate that we are seeking to renew this consent for two main reasons; firstly, if we are forced to import the material by road, this will have a significant impact upon the time taken to complete the project. We feel it is in everyone’s interests that the project now progresses as quickly and safely as possible. Secondly and most importantly, there are clear environmental benefits; if the material is transported to site by rail, we estimate that over 1000 additional lorry movements would be required, we are sure that this is a situation which everyone will want to avoid.
