Welcome to tescogerrardscross.co.uk, a website dedicated to providing the local community with news and information regarding our Gerrards Cross supermarket development.

Tesco and out contractor Costain are now working hard to complete the construction of our supermarket in Gerrards Cross. Like most people, Tesco wants to see progress on the site as soon as possible and over the last few months we have made significant progress in carrying out advance works which will enable us to complete the project. We have received a number of approvals from Network Rail and will continue to work with them as we progress work on the site. Each stage of the development requires detailed approval from Network Rail.

We have worked as quickly as possible since we stated out intention to complete the project. We recognise the uncertainty and frustration that the development has caused locally and we apologise unreservedly to the people of Gerrards Cross.

Good progress is being on site and we are pleased to say that the opening date for the new store has been scheduled for November 2010.

This website is part of Tesco’s continuing commitment to ensuring that all the information local residents, rail travellers and other interested groups need about our Gerrards Cross Project is available in one place. There is also a feedback form if you have any questions or comments.

Update:Tesco receive full approval from Network Rail for tunnel construction at Gerrards Cross

Tesco today announced it had received Form B approval from Network Rail for the permanent works required to complete construction of the tunnel on the Tesco Gerrards Cross Site. The approval means that Costain, Tesco’s contractor for the scheme, now have approval to carry out permanent works on the tunnel structure.

The works will include the replacement of tunnel segments, the removal and replacement of fill material and the pouring of concrete to create the reinforced concrete arch structure which will sit on top of the existing tunnel structure.

Michael Kissman, Corporate Affairs Manager for Tesco said:
“We pleased that this important approval is in place and we can continue the construction work which has already started on site. We look forward to completing the work and opening the store.”
